Comprehensive Postpartum Care
What is a Postpartum Doula?
A postpartum doula is a trained professional who recognizes that childbirth is a rite of passage and a journey of transformation. She acts to honor this initiation by creating a sacred and supportive space for families to ease into this shift by providing emotional, physiological, nutritional, physical and spiritual support.
Full Spectrum Postpartum Support
This offering provides nurturing support and is meant to empower new parents with the resources and knowledge they need to thrive during the fourth trimester. This may include emotional support, newborn care education, meal preparation, herbal support, housekeeping and running errands.
I recognize that each pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience is unique and that the emotional, physical, spiritual and nutritional needs of each birthing person and their family are personal and individualized. Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do you take insurance?
Yes! If you have Pacific Source they will cover up to 15 hours of extended Postpartum Care coverage through Flex Funds. Please note, that I am not aware of any other insurance coverage at this time for Postpartum Care.
You may also use FSA/HSA funds.
2. Can I customize my sessions?
Absolutely! All Postpartum Care sessions can be modified to meet the individual needs of each family which include types of services offered, duration of care and the frequency in which you receive care. Schedule a connection call with me and lets talk about what would best serve you and your family!
3. Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! Once we agreed upon the type of care, frequency and duration of services we will draw up a contract. 25% non refundable deposit will be required up front to secure your spot. The remaining balance can then be divided up into payments, with the last payment being made the week prior to your last appointment.
4. What if I want to extend our sessions after my contact is complete?
You may absolutely do so! I love continuing my work with families and would be happy to schedule more appointments. Some Mama's like to book single, 3 hour appointments around 6 months while others like to book a set of appointments to use as needed.
5. Do you offer lactation support?
I am currently a lactation educator, not a consultant. Therefore, I can provide information to help with developing a strong latch, milk production and storage guidelines as well as help in identifying issues that may be presenting. I am 100% hands off in my approach. If further assistance is needed, I am happy to provide information for lactation consultants who have a much more advanced knowledge base to draw from to help resolve any issues arising.
6. Do you offer discounts?
For those willing to pay in full I do offer a 10% discount. Sliding scale options are also available for low income, BIPOC and LGBTQ+ families.
7. What communities do you serve?
I work with families from all backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses, however the only languages I speak are English and a little Spanish. If you are wanting a Postpartum Doula who speaks a specific language I am happy to refer you someone that can meet the needs of you and your family.
8. What locations do you work in?
I generally work within a 45 mile radius of Corvallis, OR. Some exceptions can be made depending on location and availability.

Hi Mama's or Mama's to be!
Educational Background
Why I Became a Postpartum Doula
Becoming a mother and experiencing first hand just how disconnected not only birth, but especially the postpartum period could be.
I prepped all my herbal allies, had freezer stashes and honestly the first 6 weeks were a breeze. My healing time was quite short, milk supply was solid, I had good energy, felt well nourished and was loving being a mom.
It was around month 2 that all the support dropped off, it was the dead of winter and the postpartum depression really started to hit hard for me. And in this silence I was faced with my own childhood trauma, family dysfunction, this fierceness in my boundaries that others were not used to (only further isolating me), the overwhelm, the sleepless nights, the profound polarity of all emotions being felt so deeply and really experiencing the full transformation around becoming a mother.
It was hard! And oh so beautiful.
As much as I was struggling, I kept seeing more and more moms just like me. And while realizing I was not alone in the struggle brought some relief, it mostly propelled me into wanting to be of service so others have the support they need and would be able to enjoy this rite of passage with as much ease, grace and support as possible.
As most of the work I do has been inspired by either my own hardships or those closest to me, as was the case with providing Postpartum Support. It felt like a very natural addition to my practice, as I had a lot of transferrable skills to offer, but really wanted to learn more about how I could be of service in a meaningful and impactful way.
I spent a year buying every book I could and learning all about what is actually happening during postpartum on a physiological level, what foods to cook and when for optimal nourishment, what time honored traditions have been used in varying different cultures and traditions to welcome this stage of life and so much more!
I love being able to provide this support for families and providing others with the quality of care they absolutely deserve and is optimal for healing, connection and wellbeing.
